Malaysia Passport Photos Specification

Malaysia Passport applicants no longer be required to bring along their photographs to the Immigration Department since March 1, 2014.

For walk-in applicants, the photographs will be taken at the counters.

For online passport application / renewal case, photographs of the applicants need to submitted online by uploaded the softcopy. The photographs specification are as stated below and MUST:

• The background colour of the photo must be WHITE. Other background colours will be REJECTED.

• Full face view directly facing the camera with natural facial expression

• Applicant must wear dark coloured clothing covering the shoulder and chest

• Ladies wearing head cover or hijab must wear dark colours preferably black. Their face must be visible.

• Not wearing glasses, coloured contact lenses and head/hair accessories.

• The uploaded photo must be in the form of softcopy and it is a latest photographs.
